Confidentiality
How we handle your client information
Everything you share with us is treated as confidential by default. Only the people preparing your submissions see it, we will sign your NDA on request, and at the end of the engagement we return or delete it if you ask.
Our commitments
These apply whether you send us your matters or we gather them for you.
Confidential by default
We treat everything you share as confidential, whether or not it is marked.
NDA on request
We will sign your firm's NDA, or provide ours, before any matter information changes hands.
Need-to-know access
Only the people preparing your submissions can see your matter information.
Secure exchange
Files move through your own secure file-share or encrypted email. The contact form on this site is for enquiries only.
Anonymised matters accepted
You can send matters with client names and values removed. We work from what you are comfortable sharing.
Never sold or shared
We never sell your information or share it with anyone outside the engagement.
Confidential matters in directory submissions
Most directories let firms include matters they cannot make public. Researchers can see these matters to support a ranking without writing about them. Each directory marks them differently, and we follow each one's convention.
- Chambers and Partners separates publishable and confidential work highlights (the key matters in a submission), and its template colour-codes sensitive material. Chambers says: "Any information marked 'Confidential' will not be disclosed in any way." It also asks firms to "make sure that confidential clients don't appear on publishable matters."
- Legal 500 treats everything as publishable unless it is marked. Confidential information should be marked "CONFIDENTIAL, in bold red and upper case", and Legal 500 asks firms to "avoid putting global confidentiality restrictions at the front of submissions".
- Benchmark Litigation encourages detail on confidential cases and clients and asks firms to mark that information in red.
We mark each confidential item at the level it needs: the client name, the deal value or the whole matter. We avoid blanket statements and keep confidential clients out of publishable matters.

When we gather matters for you
We use only publicly available information, such as firm news, deal announcements, court records and press coverage, plus what your lawyers send us in reply to short written questionnaires. We do not look for or use non-public information from any other source.
Retention, return and deletion
We keep your information only as long as the engagement needs it. At the end of the engagement, we return it to you or delete it on request.
For your risk and IT reviewers
We are a new, small service and do not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. Security questionnaires are welcome: we will answer yours in full and work within your firm's own file-sharing tools, so your material stays on systems you already control.
Questions firms ask
Will you sign our NDA?
Yes. We will sign your firm's NDA, or provide our own if you prefer, before any matter information changes hands.
How should we send confidential matters to you?
Through your own secure file-share or encrypted email, set up once the engagement starts. The contact form on this website is for enquiries only, so please do not send confidential material through it. You can also send matters in anonymised form.
Do you hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification?
Not today. We are a new, small service and would rather say so plainly. We are happy to complete your firm's security questionnaire and explain exactly how your information is handled.
What happens to our information when the engagement ends?
We keep it only for as long as the engagement needs it. At the end, we return it to you or delete it on request.
Questions from your risk or IT team?
Send them through our contact form and we will answer in writing.
